NEW RELEASE & REVIEW: His Heart by Claire Kingsley

His Heart by Claire Kingsley

Brooke Summerlin’s life is like a Cinderella story. Raised by an abusive, drug addicted mother, she desperately hides the truth about where she comes from. But Prince Charming arrives in the form of Liam, the most popular guy at school. He sweeps into her life and carries her away to what is supposed to be a happily ever after.

Until it isn’t.

Sebastian McKinney is the son of an Iowa state champion wrestler, and that’s what he’s going to be. Wrestling is his life. He’s focused. Determined. Nothing will stand in his way.

Except a silent illness that almost kills him.

Brooke’s greatest tragedy becomes Sebastian’s second chance at life. Four years later, he’s moving forward, his body healthy, while she is left to sink in grief that threatens to drown her. Haunted by a past she can’t escape.

But sometimes love transcends the boundaries of life and death—between what is known and what cannot be explained. The heart that loved Brooke continues to beat, and even now, it still beats for her.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Oh my god! This book! My heart!

This story follows Brooke and Sebastian. Same timeline and two different lives. Until one day, their paths cross over and become one.

"From the first time we met, she'd lodged herself deep inside of me. One look in her eyes and I'd seen her truth."

Brooke leads a troubled life and when the golden boy at school, who is also the boy next door, shows a genuine interest in her, it seems too good to be true. But, it is true. They fall in love and embark on a future together. Until one day, there is no future for them.

"He looked familiar, like someone I should know but couldn't place. But there was no way I'd met him before. I'd never forget a man like this."

Sebastian is a star athlete and ready to conquer the world. He's got loving parents, a great girlfriend, and a promising future. Until one day, there is no future for him.

The tragedy of Brooke's life brings a renewed future to Sebastian's. When the two strangers finally meet, years later, they recognise one another.

"A wave of heat poured through me. But it wasn't the fire of ruin. It was the tantalizing warmth of hope. Of life. Of creation, and power and passion."

I loved this book! It really moved me.

Brooke is complicated. She has to work hard at happiness, but there are days when it feels like there is no light in her life and no good reason to get out of bed. Sebastian is her white knight. He wants to help her so much. He is such a gorgeous, patient man. I love how hard he fights for her. The two of them together is stunning. I loved the poetry of Sebastian's words. Their connection is amazing.

The author has surpassed herself with this novel. I've enjoyed her previous novels but this particular one is on a level up because of the depth and emotion portrayed. I thought it was fantastic and beautifully written.
