REVIEW: Until You Loved Me by Brenda Novak

Until You Loved Me (Silver Springs, #3) by Brenda Novak

Sometimes starting over means finding everything you’ve been missing…

After catching her fiancé cheating—with another man–usually straight-laced, workaholic scientist Ellie Fisher liberates her wild side just long enough to indulge in a passionate one-night-stand with a tall, dark stranger she meets at a trendy Miami bar. Embarrassed by her recklessness, she ducks out the following morning without learning the guy’s full name, something that shouldn’t have been a problem…until a pregnancy test turns positive.

Being a professional football player, Hudson King has always been cautious around women. But this one had been different—so disinterested in his celebrity, so convincingly into him. When Ellie tracks him down, claiming she’s carrying his baby, he’s stunned. And more than a little betrayed.

But after growing up as an orphan, he’ll do anything to stay involved in his child’s life, so he urges Ellie to move to Silver Springs where they can co-parent. Hudson has a lot of love to give—certainly enough for his child, and when their initial spark reignites, perhaps for Ellie too…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What a great ending! This story really had you on the edge of your seat.

This has an emotional but very solid couple, both not looking for love and commitment, who stumble into each other, and have the best evening together.

Ellie, a very independent lady, just out of a long-term engagement gets dragged into a nightclub by her friend.

Hudson, top athlete, also dragged out to the nightclub by his friends, wants to stay anonymous, which wasn’t that hard in the dark nightclub.

Hudson sees and initiates meeting Ellie, who has no idea who he is. However, they go on to have a fantastic evening. They are then thrown together due to unforeseen circumstances and, whilst they are both very upset and angry, they decide to do the right thing for all concerned.

We get to follow them as they navigate the start of their relationship together, with dreadful people throwing dreadful stories about Hudson’s start in life, and how they work together to get the results they deserve.

They both have some great friends in their corner, and Bruiser turns out to be a really good friend to both of them. I loved how Hudson slowly worked through his issues to get over the hurt he had carried all his life. Ellie is a remarkable lady, with her analytical mind, checking everything and cross- referencing - she really was very astute.

I like how we get references to New Horizons School, it certainly does take a small town to help the community, and where better for Ellie and Hudson to start their new life together.

This series gets better, the characters are all unique and individual with the school as the glue keeping them all connected. Their stories have been as individual as the characters, and you get it all - love, anger, thrills, excitement, suspense, intrigue.

I can’t wait to read the next instalment of Silver Springs, although it will be bittersweet, as it will be the end of a great series.
