REVIEW: Chasing Vivi by A M Hargrove

Chasing Vivi by A.M. Hargrove

Chasing Vivi is a Second Chance, Enemies To Lovers, Stand Alone, Contemporary Romance

Vivi Renard—a blast from the past—wasn’t supposed to affect me like this.

When I knew her ten years ago she was nothing more to me than a highly functioning brain.
Hell, I paid her to do my homework.

Only now … she’s drop dead gorgeous but had the nerve to turn me down for a date … several times.
No one turns me—Prescott Beckham—down for anything.
I’m on a mission and won’t stop until I’m firmly planted between her thighs, hearing her moan my name.

Her plump red lips have me dreaming filthy things and acting like a kid with his first crush.
If I can’t have her, I don’t want anyone else to either.
What’s worse is I want to own every single bit of her.

Except there’s a slight problem.
Vivi can’t stand me.
Even the old let’s be friends again thing failed.
She tossed it back saying we were never friends to begin with.

But I’m the king at playing ruthless games.
So she’d better be ready to drop her thong, because Vivi is going to end up in my bed sooner … or later.
And I’m pretty damn sure it’s going to be sooner.

Caroline's Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"He was that kind of guy - so persuasive, so difficult to say no to, so everything. Not to mention I was secretly in love with him."

In school, Vivienne Renard was the overweight brainiac who was mercilessly bullied by all the mean girls. The only reason she associated with Prescott Beckham was because he paid her to do his homework. She seriously crushed on him but knew he was out of her league.

"Vivienne Renard. Of all the people to run into this morning, I never expected her to be one of them. And damn if she wasn't a sight for sore eyes..."

Prescott Beckham liked Vivi well enough at school but never really paid that much attention to her - or her troubles. He had his own issues to deal with. Now, a grown man, his wealth and power means that he can have anything he wants and no one ever says no to him. Until Vivi.

He recognises her face immediately, in spite of the difference in her. She's a veritable bombshell. But she wants nothing to do with him. She wants nothing from him. However, Prescott is completely undeterred. He's persistent and determined to have her.

"I was right about you, Little Wolf. You live up to your name I gave you. Except you're not hungry for food. You're starving for something much wilder, much more wicked than that."

The more he pursues her, the more she resists him. The more she resists him, the more he tries to find ways to have her. Until he starts realising that he wants more than a fling with Vivi. And, his work is cut out for him as he tries and shows her that he genuinely cares.

"You're like a song. When I first saw you, I heard a few lines, but then each time, more notes were added until I now have a complex melody. And it gets better every day."

I ADORED this story! I loved watching the change in Prescott. He was so confused and dumbfounded by Vivi and her resistance to him. Vivi is definitely as stubborn as they come. She has a high sense of self-preservation, and inadvertently makes Prescott chase her and view her differently. His lust for her is all-consuming but I thoroughly adored his sweet little gestures and gifts. He really managed to win her over, whilst overcoming his own issues. Loved it!!
