From New York Times Bestselling Author, S.L. SCOTT, comes this new and utterly captivating series, The Kingwood Duet. With memorable characters and an unforgettable story, you will want to be a part of this new series launch.

Called "The Best Book of 2017" and "Summer's MUST READ Sensation" by readers, bloggers, and bestselling authors.

Welcome to the mysterious world of the rich and the damned in this gritty, modern day fairy tale. Two star-crossed lovers will either find their destiny or meet their fate in a world where demons come in the form of familiar faces and pawns aren’t just players, but deadly.

She was my destiny.

I was her downfall.

We were a match made in hell.

But when we were together, that hell was pure heaven.

The moment I laid eyes on her, I knew she would pay the price for my sins. I wasn’t much older than she was, but old enough to know better. Old enough to know she would be good for me and I was bad for her. But I pursued her anyway. Back then I had hope that maybe she could change my future.

Maybe together we could change our fate . . .

Caroline's Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“That day as the rain came down, I made sweet Sara Jane Grayson my mission. With nothing left to lose, I vowed to steal her heart and own her soul.”

On the day he buried his mother, Alexander Kingwood spotted Sara in the rain, wearing her Catholic schoolgirl uniform. He wanted her from the moment he saw her. She became the light, the goodness, in his dark, twisted world.

“To the outside world, he’s King. To me, he’s Alexander. Everything.”

When Sara first saw him, he took her breath away. She had no idea how much he would change her life. She could see that there was a darkness in him, but she didn’t even try to stay away from him.

OH MY GOD! This book was fantastic! It had a dark and edgy fairytale quality to it. I liked that this book starts out with the couple already established. We get flashbacks to the past of how they met and events that happened, as well as the unravelling of the story in the present.

“Can I save him before he destroys himself and me along with him?”

There is so much mystery and so many questions in the story, as well as a whole lot of love between Alexander and his ‘firefly’, Sara. He is such a driven young man, with so much anger and bitterness seething below the surface. Sara is his balm, his calm, his sanity. He often disappears and she never asks questions. However, one day, she’s prompted to ask them and she struggles to cope with his revelations, or even accept what he’s doing.

And, the LOVE! My god, these two were just SO IN LOVE! They were young but they were in it FOR LIFE! They are like a drug to each other. Sara is often bewildered by what Alexander sees in her. Alexander can’t seem to make her understand that she is absolutely everything to him. He wants her but, at the same time, knows that he and his life might ruin her. He feels that his life would be nothing without her.

“You’re part of me, and I’m part of you. There’s no me without you and no you without me. There never will be.”

GAH! I just don’t have enough words to describe how I feel about this book. It was an amazing, gripping read. Beautifully told with a heart-wrenching cliffhanger of an ending!

I’m so desperate for the concluding book!
